Peter Mac provides cancer care to patients from across the state and beyond the Victorian boarders. The burden of constant trips to hospital for diagnostics, cancer treatment and follow-up can be very tiring, expensive and disruptive to normal life. Peter Mac’s telehealth program plays an important role in enabling some cancer care to be delivered closer to home by connecting patients and their local care providers with Peter Mac clinicians using video conferencing technology. Increasing our utilisation of telehealth is a key organisational priority.
The Telehealth Administration Officer promotes the uptake of telehealth by providing the day to day coordination, technical support and training for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre telehealth service.
