The challenges of complexity, cost and skills availability, are some of the major forces driving the digital transformation of healthcare in Australia. Increasingly we are looking at not only enhancing the scheduled clinician visit through telehealth, but the virtualisation of whole models of care, both within and outside hospitals, as ways of addressing these challenges. This is the emerging field of virtual health, the leveraging of data, video, voice, image and text technologies to create an environment where we virtualise the domains of:

Position: Care delivered where needed independent of location
Time: At the time required by the patient and available to staff
Team: Driven by a multidisciplinary team
Process: Linked into the care processes of the patient
Community: Integrated with the patient’s life outside the hospital

This webinar will talk about the technologies and processes that are evolving to support this approach. In particular, it will look at how they are being integrated into a patient journey that spans beyond the initial acute healthcare event and seeks to support a broader patient engagement.
