ACRRM WEBINAR – Photography & Dermatology

The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) are hosting a webinar titled “Smile! …Photography and Dermatology – the capture and storage of clinical images”
 
Wednesday 6 December 2017, 7pm AEST (6pm Melbourne time)

 

The role of photography in dermatology and skin cancer management has become increasingly important with the advent of digital technology.

Images can be crucial to diagnosis and management and remain the bedrock of medical education.

This webinar will focus on how to optimise your photographic technique, why you should take and store images and the potential pitfalls you may encounter.

Dermatologist Dr Jim Muir, Plastic Surgeon Dr Dan Kennedy and ACRRM Online Services Manager Lex Lucas have worked in ACRRMs Tele-Derm service for over 12 years.

They will being their knowledge and experience of good and bad images and the impact these have on the advice they can give to rural doctors.

In a Q and A and case base discussion they will cover;

  • Consent and privacy
  • Mobile vs compact vs SCR cameras
  • Dermoscopy photos
  • Understanding the basics (depth of field, while balance etc)
  • Catalogue and storing images
